About Our Fees

The Haven Family Medical Practice is committed to providing personalised, comprehensive care for you and your family.  Costs have been rising substantially over the last few years and unfortunately the Medicare rebate only covers part of the cost of providing the quality care that you and your family deserve, after much consideration we have decided to introduce a gap fee.

The fees charged have to cover operating costs, including staff wages, insurances, medical equipment and supplies, electricity, computers, IT services etc.

From the 24th February 2025 we are moving to a mixed billing practice. Pensioners, Commonwealth Seniors Health Card holders, Health Care card holders, DVA patients and children 15 years and under will continue to be bulk billed.

Certain follow up consultations may be bulked billed at the discretion of the individual doctor.

We will continue to invoice the insurer directly for workers compensation claims, however should you require to discuss other unrelated medical conditions at the time of your workers compensation appointment you will be required to pay a gap fee unless you are eligible for bulk billing as outlined above.

All other patients will be required to pay the full consultation fees, we can process your Medicare claim for you and you should receive the rebate within 24 hours directly into your Medicare linked bank account.

Cancellation Fee

A cancellation fee applies for notice of non-attendance less than 3 hours prior to your appointment time or for a no-show. The cancellation fee will have to be paid prior to your next consultation with the practitioner. For new patients please note the cancellation fee will be applied as per the new patient booking information you will receive at the time of you initial booking.

Accounts need to be settled on the day of your appointment, we can lodge your claim through Medicare and the rebate should be reimbursed within 24 hours.

If we are unable to process your Medicare claim due to patient bank account not being linked to Medicare, patient will need to claim from Medicare themselves.

The Doctor makes the final decision on the fee.
